back

05 April 2006

Hallo to all our Friends around the World,

We are safely back in Africa - after a very long flight. It was so different - as this time my husband Danie joined me in the States. It was tremendous. Our children are all well - we have Hanel back with us in the house but we have not seen the boys in a long time. Nicolaas still flying in Namibia and Hano is in Scotland at the moment.

A special "Hi" to those whom we saw the week before last in America. I have written to people individually - so this letter will just be a short (I'll try) - summary of what we experienced the last month.

I saw some friends that I have not seen in a long time and we just picked up our relationships/friendship - right there where we left it last and had fun from the word "go"! Funny - but the older I get - the more fun I have - it is as if I'm living more to the full and for the moment. To enjoy people and experiences is such a blessing. Jesus came so that we could have life more abundantly - not so? It started off in Dallas where I saw my dear friend Brenda (who is an excellent Bible teacher from Abilene Texas. If you want to know more about her or invite her to minister - just let me know. After spending time with Brenda - I then went on to Carlsbad - New Mexico where I ministered at Oasis Church- on invitation of pastors John and Liz Burke. This man has an incredible voice- it should be heard all over America. Not only the anointing but the quality of this voice. We sang together in Jerusalem for the Feast of Tabernacles - for a couple of years.
Carlsbad area is such a flat though interesting place. I realized that this is the most extraordinary landscape I have ever seen - much like the Karoo- semi-dessert in South Africa- but without a sign of ridges or mountains. I loved it - it was fascinating and it made me want to write to God. Such vast uninhabited areas - colored gold and the sky changes to purple and orange and pink- and then the whole landscape takes on a different perspective. After ministering there we went for a wild four-wheel bike ride in the dessert. It was fun!!! Thanks John Wesley - you made me feel like a schoolgirl again.

Then on to Washington DC where my ever faithful friend Evans picked me up and I had one day to just recover- rest and on we went to Blue Ridge Mountains. Tom and Priscilla Flory lives there on there breathtakingly beautiful farm - called "Providence" Evans took me there and we ministered in that area (Orange/Madison) for a week. Danie arrived that week and the four of us had great fun. We felt as if we have known them for years and I believe that we will be friends for life - and after!!!!
Something very significant happened there. Tom and Priscilla attend a church there that is mainly visited by Black Americans. We come from Africa - but we are White Africans. So most of you know that all our land and possessions have been taken away -and with no compensation - by the government of Zimbabwe - which is under the ruler ship Mr. Mugabe - who is a black man. We could have been so bitter and twisted - through all these experiences in Africa - but God has dealt with us in such a miraculous way - that we are FREE. We could not have overcome this in our own strength - it is not possible- He did a beautiful work in us - of forgiving and letting GO of the past- in order so that we do not risk missing out on that which God has for us in the future. Remember - it is Danie's first visit to the States with me. I asked him to share that evening. He walked into that church building and that was the congregation that God chose for him to share his heart with - a beautiful group of Black Americans!!!! They made us feel so welcome- Danie just could not believe the love that he felt for all of them. God has such a sense of humour! Then we realize what a deep work God performed in our lives that there is now no time for anger and resentment. There could have been animosity or bitterness or even hatred towards a different race - even though it is so absolutely crazy even to think that way. But we still see so many twisted people because of racial hatred. If this is the way God did it in my husbands life- please rejoice with me as this can be such a testimony - to the glory of God- and help many people walk in freedom of God's forgiveness towards us first and then as we continue to demonstrate to walk in the abundant life of forgiving others. So often we replace or even transfer our anger on other innocent people that have nothing to do with your situation and you are playing with fire as you are the one - loosing all the way. We are called to show it (forgiveness) - not to just talk about it! The world and the people around us seek answers to a lot of questions... they yearn for true peace and happiness in their lives. They are seeking Hope - a reason to live - a solution to the whirlpool of problems threatening to drag them along. We are the ones to show that God can change lives and that it will take the whole church - and the whole gospel- and the whole city -and the whole nation - and the whole world. Sooner or later we have to realize that we have to become color blind - we have to get past the epidermis. Because God has commanded us to love one another. People are waiting for us- the real church of Jesus Christ to finally stand up.

We visited different churches in the Washington area and even Winchester. I love and respect the people that have been inviting us back for a few years now. I do not have the time to tell you all that happened. I just want to quote sister Gwen Shaw:” He just gives us the honor of being present at His "show of Power - letting us think that somehow by our own skills and wisdom and strength we are doing something" We were at past. Lee and Jacky Prock's congregation in Winchester and also at past. Pitts and his family Evans’s Church of Northern Virginia - we love these brothers and their wives. These are places you can visit when you are veering in those areas.

We just want to thank you all once again for loving us in America- we experienced so much love and kindness. If you are reading and are not from the States - I am sure you will be just as kind to us - as they were!!! I am praying to go to Germany in this year - hopefully we can say the same of you guys after our visit there. Thank you - to those who supported us financially - who gave us a blouse here and a shirt there and even a CD player - May the Lord bless you as only He can do. I do believe that God loves America - keep praying - you prayer warriors - you have a tremendous tool in your hands - HIS WORD- and go fulfill HIS purposes in your life!

We ended the tour by visiting Danie's brother and wife Jenny in Atlanta. It was great seeing them after so many years.

This remaining year - God Willing- I will be working on my book and also we will be working on a new CD and DVD - either African Music- or Just worship - or maybe a combination of all the languages and music I love. Please pray for me in this regard.

Lastly - I was supposed to be in hospital last week -but then I contracted flue or a bad cold. So they stopped all procedures. I felt at peace about it - now it will be done next Wednesday 12th April - on the birthday of our twins - Nicolaas en Hano!

Be blessed all you who have read this. We will be spending more time in South Africa from now on as my husband has given it a year to see if we still have a chance to make a living in Zimbabwe- but alas - we believe our time to live there is - over. We rest with His decisions for our lives - such a safe place to be. Do what you have to do and He will lead and guide you - to where He wants you and where it is the very BEST for you. He will do nothing unless you ask Him - He is a gentleman - He will not force His will upon your life. Please give Him a chance in your life - if you are in a battle and maybe you know that He has allowed you to be there- He will give you the weapons to fight with - but even better He will fight the battles for you. I have never seen Him ever loose one battle!

Love and blessings I pray upon your life. I - Hanli greet you in the wonderful Name of Jesus our Messiah.
