Dear Friends,

Greetings from Zimbabwe - if you do not know where this country is - get out your World Maps!!! Yes I am still here on the farm of our friends. Living in a small cottage. A far cry from what we were used to - living on our own land. I wish not to repeat our life story every time - but God has shaken this family - and He is busy shaking the country - and I think the nations. We are stripped of so much property - without being compensated in any way. And yet - I can tell you in all honesty - that there is no hardness of heart - towards the people who have done this to us. We just know that it was not that we were not good stewards of what God has entrusted to us - that we have lost all our land - but because of the acts of power hungry leaders. We just continue to pray for those in power - as we see how they just cannot get enough of worldly wealth - while in the mean time their own people are suffering. At the moment there is a tremendous fuel shortage - my husband had to go to the neighboring country - called Mozambique - to get fuel. The roads are quiet and the towns are like ghost towns - no cars. I cycled 30kms the other day on the main road between Harare and Mutare - there were hardly any vehicles - normally it is not safe to be on a bicycle - and not a woman by herself. Only a few busses and the odd car came by - where normally the traffic is very heavy. Even with this - we have learned to cope. Likewise the electricity - some nights you would not have electricity as the country has to do load shedding - because the country has not paid its debt for the electricity. Where there is no more respect and rightful place for God Almighty in a government - there will be chaos.

Having experienced all this in Africa - has made me realized all the more that even though we might be perplexed, we are not in despair... 2 Cor. 4:7-12 We must accept that in the Christian life there will be many times when God will work things out in a manner exactly opposite to the way we think He should. He is omniscient - God's mind is not like my mind. Paul in the above text - was perplexed but he was not in despair. Make sure you understand this. Selwyn Hughes says: "It is not foolish or wrong to say: I do not know what is happening" It is only foolish to say: "God doesn't know what is happening."

I will be ministering in South Africa for the whole month of August. Feel greatly honoured to address a group of ladies called "Women of Destiny". Many of them are strong leaders in their area and some of them are members of a Christian Democratic Party. Then also will I be busy working on articles for different Christian magazines during this time. Then follows church meetings and Ladies meetings.

My husband has not decided yet whether we will settle here in Zimbabwe or go to South Africa - I will follow him as I know that God will make it clear to him and I will have peace about whatever he decides.

I am still planning on going to the States later this year - so let me know if I could be of any help in your area - to minister and share our hearts.

Be blessed - serve Him with all your heart - and do what is right!

Hanli
