Dear Friends,
All is well in our hearts here in Africa. All may
not be well in the country of Zim. For every time I get back here
after ministering elsewhere - I can see the deterioration. The local
black people are getting more and more despondent but in the hearts
of the Christians there is hope and an excitement. Actually I do
not want to fall into complacency where we are not completely dependant
upon God. He is doing great things in our lives. The fact that we
see things in a positive light every day - makes me realize that
God has done work in our lives - in the natural it is not possible
to be so content and filled with joy. Not just happiness- because
happiness waits for something to happen before we are happy - but
the joy that the Lord Jesus gives - is strength! Yes - I am back
in Zimbabwe with Danie my dear husband. It is good - nothing more
needs to be said!
Soon after arriving in South Africa - I had the privilege to be
the guest artist at the "Feast of Tabernacles" that was
hosted by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem - in the
City Hall of Cape Town. It was wonderful - the enthusiasm of the
South African people regarding their love for the land of Israel
was a testimony of God awakening the hearts of the people to have
a responsibility towards the people of Israel. The hall was packed.
And Rev. Malcolm Hedding - the Director of the ICEJ - was the key
note speaker of the evening. At that very night a lady who was in
the audience asked God to bring me across her path again in the
next week. She is a tour operator for tours to Israel. Somehow she
felt in her heart to ask me to be part of her taking people to Israel.
Amazingly - for some time now - people have asked me - that if ever
I would think of taking a group of people to Israel - they would
love to go with me. Their words were:" they know that it will
be fun and relaxing - yet intense and serious". That very Monday
night after the weekend of the Feast - I walked in at a small meeting
of people gathered in the house of Dr. Johan Greef who heads up
the ICEJ in South Africa. So the lady called Ita - was in that room
and introduced herself to me. I was fascinated and overwhelmed by
all this. She left for Israel that week and only last week did we
get together again. So if any of you are interested in joining us
on any of the four tours next year 2006 - let me know. I will only
do 2 tours with them as I have other responsibilities and singing/speaking
engagements. The detailed schedules will be seen on my website -
next week. Is it not interesting that the tour logo is something
to the effect of JOY and fun?
The other wonderful experience I had was to sing at a function organized
by the Esther Ladies - called - Esther's Banquette - held for the
Madame Mayoress of greater Cape Town. She was overwhelmed by the
love shown by this group of women who goes to her offices on a Thursday
and prays for her and her team. Pray for this group of young but
strong Christian ladies - who were called for such a time as this!
If any of you organizers read this- thank you for allowing me to
be a part of this. Then I spoke at the Conference of the Women of
Essence - arranged by the Bay Christian Family Church - hosted by
Pastor Jeanine Bag. The way they enveloped me in love and acceptance
was such a testimony of true Christian conduct. And done with such
class - I commend you all - women of Essence!
Marius Claasen - M.D. for Toyota Helderberg in Somerset West asked
me to sing at a launch for the new Toyota Yaris. Knowing that it
is a car for the younger generation - I was hesitant to do that
- they however convinced me that I can do it. I thank you Marius
for making me spread my wings even further and try my hand at singing
different kinds of music to what I'm used to do. Songs like "Unforgettable"
and other Laura Jones stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed it. You know why?
Because people asked me where I normally sing so they can come and
listen and I could answer: "Normally in churches and you are
so welcome to come listen there". See we should go out to the
market place and let our light shine there - we do not always have
to sing only to the ones that are already going to church. We are
living in times much closer to the end every day. Paul saw it this
way too: "Knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake
out of sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than when we first
believed."
I had a great time with my daughter Hanel who is working in Stellenbosch
at the Hydro - being a beauty therapist. She says:"Mom, I am
ministering more to people now that when I was in the ministry".
She came home every night with more and different interesting encounters
with clients who just opened their hearts to her. Being professional
- she never disclosed any names of clients - it was just wonderful
to know that God can use us in any field of harvest. So there you
go - just be a Christian - let us not say we are Christians - unless
our deeds and actions and speech correspond with it.
While in South Africa, I lacked in nothing - He provided in all
our needs - we do not have to tell people anything about what we
need - He does it in such a credible way. Even a car was provided
by the same man and his company that helped me previously. I felt
the time has come to go to the man and say that because I respect
our relationship so much - it was time to end his responsibility
towards me to provide or sponsor a car every time I'm down there.
I said that I would be in SA too often and can't expect that from
him anymore. He respected my decision. See we have to learn to hear
God's voice and not just continue receiving when time is up for
a specific thing in our lives. Then we go on to trust Him on a different
level. That is where I am now.
We had great times of worship evenings. People would just arrive
at the house in Somerset West and Alida - an anointed pianist would
arrive and we would just spend time worshipping and praising our
God. There would be no preaching - just reading the Word - scripture
- and singing and adoring our Saviour. We would leave refreshed
and actually sometime lame in our legs - just wanting to stay in
that presence of God. Much prayer would go for our different countries
and for Israel. For the Islam communities and all others who do
not know the love and freedom that can be experienced in Christ
Jesus.
To you dear reader, thank you for getting onto my website - May
I once again encourage you. Your days are numbered not numberless.
So the Bible teaches us. We as the church are to concern ourselves
with one aim. To concern ourselves with the campaign for souls.
Jesus went where His Father sent Him we should go where and when
Jesus sends us. "As the Father has sent Me, I also send you".
Be mindful of the number of your days.
May I just add something in here - which my sound engineer Sean
- makes ministering and especially singing - a joy - he is so good.
Pray for him as he has a big task actually ministering with me -
every time he does sound. I also would like to thank the two popular
magazines in South Africa '"Christian Today" and"Finesse"
for putting articles about us in their October and November editions
respectively.
For the rest of the year I will be planning my trip to America -
beginning of 2006 and giving much attention to my husband. It is
precisely a year now - since we have been forced off our land. Time
has healed wounds and we still believe that God has better plans
- we can already see it - Glory to God!!! The enemy thought he had
us broken and bitter - no way - our God Reigns!!!
Be blessed and live - for HIM!!!!
Hanli. I am still trying to send some photo's to you all.
