My dearest Friends and family in Christ Jesus.

I know that it’s been a long time since I wrote anything about what is going on in our lives. One thing I can testify of – is that God is good and is ever faithful! We are blessed – our children are blessed – so we can be a blessing to others around us.

We have just returned from a ministry time away from home. We celebrated Ascension Day. Danie and I had to do the whole service with singing and our testimony. It was truly a celebration – because to think of what Jesus left behind for us when He ascended into heaven. Act. 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere – in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria and to the ends of the earth.” No wonder the disciples left - filled with great joy-after He ascended into heaven – because He BLESSED them!
Just like the priests used to do once a year – when in Num. 6:22 “The Lord said to Moses: “Tell Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing: “May the Lord bless and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favour and give you peace.” In other words – We are blessed to be a blessing!!!! Amen.

We have not been able to go back to our beloved country – Zimbabwe since we left Sept. 2006. Some of you will know that the opposition party the MDC of Morgan Tsvangirai – did win the elections against pres. Robert Mugabe. Yet – the results were not accepted and they are still in the process of voting. In the mean time the people are still suffering under the cruel hand of the Zanu PF party. People are forced to vote for this dictator who has been in power for 28 years. Can those people stand up against such a tyrant? No they are tired and so scared –what is there left for them? Please join us in our never-ending prayers for God to protect the Christians - who are still standing strong and for others who do not know which way any more. They are so tired of their own motto for so many years – “Let us wait and see”!!!! The International Community - but most importantly the African Nations - are not doing anything to stop this absolute diabolic tyranny and rule which are driving this nation into an escalating degeneration. Change in government is of utmost importance. Imagine - inflation at the moment is 170,000% and on the black market the US $ 1 - is trading to the equivalent of Zim $ 180million – and this changes daily!!!! Your prayer – can make a difference. I thank you for standing with us. I still believe that we as landowners will be paid out some day -for our land being taken away from us without any compensation what so ever. God is in control and I do not put my trust in horses and chariots – but in the living God!!!

Yes we had great celebrations! Our lovely daughter Hanel got married to Clark on the 19th April 2008. What a day it was. She was beautiful – Clark dashingly handsome and the ceremony were saturated in the presence of God. God was just so emanate- present in all the speeches. Hanel wanted the wedding ceremony to be outside under the trees – but it rained and I said to her in comfort – that what if God wants it inside –so that every word spoken by the Rev. Vic O’ Kelly could be heard by all. And that is exactly what happened – he had our attention and it was beautiful. All married couples had the opportunity to renew their wedding vows again. We had lots of overseas guests and family travelling from Scotland –as Clark just like our daughter in law – is Scottish. What is God trying to do in the Slabbert family – is He adding a bit of “brave heart” into us? Ha-ha. The young couple are busy building a beautiful house – not far from us. How good God is! She was away from home for 7 years travelling and ministering all over the world and now God has brought her back to where we live. Danie and I – we are two very grateful parents to have children like we have. Then He added Clark Appleby to our family. View photos

The boys Nicolaas and Hano are very well. Hano and his lovely wife Lorraine was here for the wedding – all the way from Scotland. Nicolaas is still enjoying flying for a company here in Africa.

Just to bring glory to God – my latest CD – “Draw Me” was nominated for the SAMA awards here in South Africa. There were 3 nominees in our category. I did not win but it was a great honour to be nominated in any way. Doors are opening more and more for me to minister here in South Africa. Then the other great news is – that I was asked to be a singer in the team at this years Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem! What a tremendous privilege to help usher God’s people into His presence – by our worship and our praise unto Him. I need your prayers as I see it as a great responsibility to sing there. Then trust and believe with me that I will be able to have the sufficient funds to be able to go. We must pay for our own air tickets and accommodation. I have no doubt in my mind that our God will supply all the needs, according to His riches in glory.

May I leave 1 John 4: 16 God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him. : 17 In this way love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgement, because in this world we are like Him. There is no fear in love. So just my interpretation – if we are in Him and He in us – then we walk in His love and then WE ARE IN LOVE!!!!!! So walk in the fullness of His blessings and let us declare with Paul in Gal. 5:22 that we have the fruit of the Spirit and that is: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Thank you for your prayers and do know that we love you –and that Danie and I pray for you daily.

You are blessed to be a blessing!

Hanli.
