HANLI SLABBERT
...was born in the district of Moorreesburg near Cape Town in South
Africa. She always has a desire to sing but it was only at the age
of 14 that a teacher started to enter her for many Eisteddfod singing
competitions. She furthered her studies in voice training at the
Conservattorium of the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
She however chose a career in the teaching profession
because of her love for sport (tennis). In 1974 she married Danie
and settled in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) where their 3 children- daughter
Hanel and twins Nicolaas and Hano were born.
July, 1978 will remain the most important day
in her life as she surrendered to Jesus Christ by accepting His
wonderful gift of salvation. It was during the war of independence
that this young family was attacked in their homestead. As the enemy
opened fire on them with RPG7 rockets, AK47 machine guns and mortars,
she cried out to God. After being saved-she knew that she wanted
to use this gift from God to serve Him and bring glory to His Name
across the earth.
For many years she sang throughout South Africa-
did a lot of recording, radio and television work but then the doors
opened internationally. It was greatly due to invitations by the
International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem that she was invited
all over the world. For the last 10 years, she ministered in song
at the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem.
ELKANAH MINISTRIES is the work of God the Father
who uses this vehicle to draw people to His Son Jesus Christ(Y'shua
ha Maschiach). To bring healing and restoration to those who hurt
(especially in marriage). To encourage that ALL can have a living
relationship with God and experience His love, His joy and forgiveness
and His peace.
Hanli is available to minister through praise,
worship and preaching of the Word. She gives her testimony on life
in Africa and it is powerful to see and hear what God had done in
their own marriage. She is often used to bring a word of strength
and encouragement. (1 Cor. 14:3)
"Pray that I'll know what to
say and have the courage to say it at the right time, telling the
mystery to one and all, the Message." (Eph. 6:19)
